The short version

We collect the little we need to run your server and bill you fairly, and we don't sell it. That's the whole idea of "without the tricks."

What we collect

Your account details (like your email), what you set up (worlds, mods, settings), and basic usage needed to keep servers healthy and to bill by the hour. Your server files and world data belong to you.

Cookies

A session cookie keeps you signed in. One more cookie (voxi_anon_id) holds a random id so a visit that passes through a sign-in redirect is counted once instead of twice.

Analytics: what we measure, and what we don't

We run product analytics through PostHog. It records page views, clicks on buttons we've tagged, how far readers get through a guide, and a session replay with the text masked out in your browser before anything is sent, so the replay shows where you clicked, not what you typed or read. Events carry ids, counts, paths and yes/no flags. They never carry your email, your username, a price, or anything from inside your world.

This exists so we can see what breaks and what actually gets used. It is not used for ad targeting, and it isn't sold or handed to ad networks. The requests go to p.herz.ceo, a proxy we run, which forwards them to PostHog's EU cloud. Your IP address travels with them, the way it does with any web request.

There is no Google Analytics, no Google Ads tag, no Tag Manager and no Meta, TikTok or Reddit pixel on this site. We do buy Google ads (Google counts that click on its own side, before you reach us), but nothing we ship follows you after you leave.

Who else your browser talks to

Beyond Voxi's own servers, a few pages load something from a third party:

  • Cloudflare: the bot check on the signup page (challenges.cloudflare.com), and Cloudflare sits in front of the site.
  • FingerprintJS (openfpcdn.io), on signup only. It works out a device id in your browser so one person can't farm free credits across ten accounts. Loading it tells that CDN your IP and browser.
  • Stripe: only when you pay. Card details go straight to Stripe and never touch our servers.
  • Crafatar (crafatar.com): the player heads next to your world's players; your browser asks it for a skin by Minecraft UUID.
  • Google or Discord: only if you choose to sign in with them or link an account.

Our fonts ship with the site, so no request goes to Google Fonts. There are no ad iframes, no embedded widgets, and no other outside code on any page.

What we never do

We don't sell your data, and we don't hand your world files to anyone without a lawful reason. Your map is private unless you choose to share its link.

Your choices

You can export or delete your data by contacting us. Closing your account removes your servers and their data on our normal schedule.
